[The 'gear fizzles with noise until Yuugi's face appears in front of some grass, focused in thought. Until he realizes it worked, and he breaks out a grin.]

Hello! I hope I have this right... Anyways, I'm namely trying to call my friend Bakura-kun, but if anyone else wants to know...

I just hatched a Pawniard an hour ago. And I'd show him, but. I sent him to the Center with my Happiny soon after. It's a pretty high level out here for a newborn... But, an hour ago, I finally found one!

[He turns his gear around, and behold, a fluffy ball, rolling in the grass. But at the breeder's laugh, it stops and reveals itself to have a blue face and legs.]



Ah-ha, I wonder if all Mareeps do that... Anyways, catching one was my main goal coming down here, so now I better ask Bakura-kun what he wants to do. I would have actually called even sooner, but a Hoppip attacked right after, and Shin had to fight it off-

[A sudden flash to the side, and the screen wobbles. A second for Yuugi to gasp, and everything goes dark.]

[Time for a private re-call.]

-Bakura-kun? I'm, not sure but... Is this Shin?

Aaa-- I guess so! I'm really not familiar with that type enough to know. But you can always scan him with your gear and see if that's his final form!

[He looks up at Shin, but only gets confusion mirrored back. So he looks to his friend on the screen.]

Hmm, maybe he hasn't learned that move yet... Hey, are you close by?

[[And about ten feet above is a very familiar looking hot air balloon shaped pokemon with an additional tuft of white on top of it, waving down with a huge grin.]]

[Have a welcoming grin for a landing, travel buddy. Until his new Mareep comes up behind him and rubs up like a cat, to get attention. Resulting in a jolt from the boy.]

Aa! You caught one of those? [[smiles as he does his dramatic jump down that he enjoys far too much, Annin fluttering down to land in the cushion of Bakura's hair.]]

-yeah... I found it just before Shin evolved.

[And now he's uncertain of his mission, or if that shock was on purpose or not. It's certainly blinking innocent enough.]

-this is Bakuto. [Grin?]

[[Bakura has half suspected that Yuugi's been collecting pokemon that remind him of his friends, but this new addition confirms it. That, and the name.]]

Aaaa, Bakuto, huh? [[rubs the back of his neck as he laughs]] Electric type, ne?

[Action] What? It means "gambler"! Totally about Yuugi! x3

[He's caught, isn't he? Well, that makes it a perfect time to use this new 'Gear knowledge to check Bakuto's data.]

...yep! I think it doesn't know any moves like that yet, except shocking me. But I bet it's, um.

It's a pokémon- half-dark, half-steel. Like a little armored man with blades for hands.

He looked it, yep! I almost wish I kept him out here... But it doesn't sound right, throwing him into training instantly.

[Or, that's the nice excuse. The real thing is the newborn doesn't seem to know who he's supposed to fight.]

You know that all pokemon that participate in a battle get experience, right? That's how I trained my joltik, and most of the pokemon I got from eggs.

Oh yes! I battle with some of my team all the time!

But, I don't want to push them if they don't like fighting much... Or, until I can work with them at home, in my Pawniard's case.

If I send him out right now, he might not listen and back down... And that's dangerous, around this level.

That's kind of weird. Most pokemon are usually pretty obedient when they're young and it's only if you overwork them that they get rebellious.

But my slowking was like that when he was a slowpoke. He liked to run off.

[Faster than Roxas liked.]

Oh? I haven't seen a Slowpoke yet, but no matter what type it's never good for them to disappear.

[He had that happen with his Buneary after all... Which, added to his Pawniard's behavior, and Roxas's comment, has him second guessing his approach, here.]

I'm assuming it's just his nature, or maybe he's confused... But once I'm home, and can focus on just him, I'll see what I can do.

There's a lot around Azalea Town, by the Slowpoke well. I think it was more that he just liked to run than anything else.

Could be either of those things, so I think it's a good idea to get to a place where you can focus on him.
